Retired and logged out. So I started planning a MP game the earlier this week, and wanted to share my thoughts on whats come up in the establishment of the setting. I started with taking the relatively familiar setting of me and my players' region of residence, Vancouver Island. And then it was fun to start researching what if anything on our island would have been a Soviet nuclear target.

CFB Esquimalt, here in Greater Victoria, is a no-brainer, as it is a navybase, and hey you take out the seat of provincial government in BC while you're at it!

But what was a little more interesting was CFB Comox, an airforce base up island. It was involved with the Americans in an anti-nuke defense system, et al. Major target. Whats EVEN cooler, is that years ago one of my old friends in the army was stationed there, so I have a sense of the place! Outside of that, as far as the island is concerned, there isn't much of note It was suggested in one essay I read, the China, amongst others, would emerge as a world power by Even on the regional level, years almost 8 generations!

And of course, after years, there'd probably be a fairly strong foreign presence on North American soil. I mean, especially the island here, after years, it might well have well defined political boundaries, even if they weren't all of the same piece.

So, I went for 80 years post-apocolypse. I mean the worst of it all Anyone who survived up to that point has clearly "made the adjustment" and will go on survivng even if they don't bare young. Natrual human inclination will lead to the formation of communities and the survivability of its founders will carry the community forward. But 80 years gives me some time for some history to have built up between different "factions" on the island, but it's still quite wild and up for grabs.

And then there is the matter of the cityscapes. The island isn't known for it's many reinforced concrete structures I wanted at least some cityscape So, 80 years leaves alot more standing, "even if" only partially.

But as for those factions I mentioned Mutated wildlife Don't feed'em. Mutated people They resemble the nasty folks from the Hills Have Eyes. They tend to be shunned by us "prettys". They tend to use stripped down school buses, carry fuel for the return trip, and then set up camp at various places along the route and scout the area on foot. I'm considering the possibility that these Raiders are led by a MP member who's team was awakened a couple of decades earlier than the players, and who went rogue.

We'll see. Native Indian communities One place I'm definitely thinking of is "the north" of the island. They probably don't like the Raiders too much in those parts.

And maybe Their native towns might well have been abandoned, where they sat along the island highway, ie. I thinking at least one will be a fanatical fundie-Christian town. Edition of The Morrow Project. One of the best loved post-apocalyptic games form the 's!

One hundred and fifty years after the fall of civilization, the members of the Morrow Project wake to a changed world. It is set after a devastating nuclear war. It was first released in the s, and it still has a loyal following.
